PADI Junior Scuba Diver or PADI Scuba Diver

  • Duration: 2 days

  • Minimum age: 10 / 15 years old

  • Maximum depth: 40 feet / 12 meters

If you cannot commit with 3-4 days for becoming PADI® Open Water Diver certified, this option will allow you to complete half of the Open Water Diver course and later you may complete the remaining components of the Open Water Diver program.

Academic

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a "bored" classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving

  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills

  • 2 Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

Equipment

In the PADI Scuba Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water. Here on Roatan you may use your swim suit or a shorty wet suit provided by Cayuco Reef Divers.

Cayuco Reef Divers will provide you brand new equipment during your course.
